Preview: Chenango Forks Blue Devils vs. Whitney Point Eagles
The Chenango Forks Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Whitney Point Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chenango Forks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
Chenango Forks came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Chenango Valley by a score of 47-35.
It was another big night for Stephen Samsel, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Raab, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Whitney Point was able to grind out a solid victory over Watkins Glen back in January, taking the game 60-53. The win was just what Whitney Point needed coming off of a 69-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Chenango Forks' record now sits at 8-11. As for Whitney Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Chenango Forks took their win against Whitney Point in their previous matchup back in February of 2020 by a conclusive 59-39. Will Chenango Forks repeat their success, or does Whitney Point have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
