Recap: South River Rams vs. Metuchen Bulldogs
There's no place like home for the South River Rams, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Metuchen by a score of 54-47 on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for South River, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Alex Grospe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 38 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South River's points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Costa, who scored five points.
South River's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Metuchen, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South River will face off against Spotswood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Spotswood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches. As for Metuchen, they will head out on the road to challenge J.P. Stevens at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
