Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Riley Remmick and Julia Mcivor Lead Devils Lake to Victory

After losing to Hillsboro/Central Valley the last time they met, Devils Lake decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Firebirds put the hurt on the H-CV Burros with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Firebirds.

The victory didn't come easy: Hillsboro/Central Valley scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Leading Devils Lake to victory were Julia McIvor and Riley Remmick. McIvor had 15 digs and two aces, while Remmick had six digs and three aces. Remmick has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

Devils Lake now has a winning record of 10-9-2. As for Hillsboro/Central Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Devils Lake and Thompson will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillsboro/Central Valley, they will be playing at home against Hatton/Northwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
