Volleyball Game Preview: Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs vs. East Clinton Astros

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs will head out to challenge the East Clinton Astros at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Lynchburg-Clay barely beat Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Blue Jays 3-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted against the Blue Jays since August 25, 2020.

Lynchburg-Clay never let Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 26-24.

Meanwhile, East Clinton had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12, 25-15.

East Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything went Lynchburg-Clay's way against East Clinton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Lynchburg-Clay made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
