After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Basehor-Linwood brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the St. James Academy Thunder on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since April 25, 2024.

Basehor-Linwood's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for St. James Academy, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Basehor-Linwood will face off against Piper at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. James Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Ward on Monday. The Cyclones will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Thunder surely won't give up without a fight.
