Football Recap: Coolidge Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 41 points the game before, Coolidge was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions 45-6. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.

Even if they lost, Coolidge's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Arturo Rodriquez, Emiliano Donaldson, and Preston Dees, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Coolidge's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Coolidge will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Tan Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Bears will be up against the Sabercats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-0 victory against Safford on the 17th.
