Basketball Recap: Reno's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Reno had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Carson Senators as they made off with a 62-36 win. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Reno got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brookesly Wilson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Wilson's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Violet Gordon, who went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Reno smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Carson lost, don't look at Lauren Finnerty. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points.

Reno is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Carson, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Reno didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-43 win against Reed on the 24th. Carson has also already played their next matchup, a 58-42 loss against Damonte Ranch on the 24th.
