Softball Recap: Grainger Takes a Loss

If Grainger was feeling good fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Cherokee last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grainger Grizzlies fell just short of the Union County Patriots by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Grizzlies have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Grainger saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destanee Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Grainger fell to 2-1. As for Union County, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Grainger will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Volunteer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union County, they will head out on the road to face off against Karns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
