Volleyball Recap: Coral Springs Comes Up Short

Coral Springs was the 3-0 winner over Monarch when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Colts came up short against the Knights on Monday, falling 3-0. The Colts' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Coral Springs might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Monarch: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 28-26.

Joel Jobi paced Coral Springs' offense, picking up 12 kills. Jobi got some help from Mickinson Jean-Mary and his 26 assists. Finally, Daziano Barrett-Daly kept Coral Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Coral Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Monarch, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Coral Springs will square off against Sports Leadership & Management at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts are facing the Giants at the right time seeing as the Giants are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Monarch, they will take on Coral Springs Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
