Baseball Recap: Kalamazoo Central Comes Up Short

Kalamazoo Central was the 7-3 winner over St. Joseph when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroon Giants fell 7-2 to the Bears on Thursday.

Mason Hoenle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliot Goerge, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Kalamazoo Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for St. Joseph, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

While Kalamazoo Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
