Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Lutheran

Lutheran won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Lutheran had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-18.

Kemp North paced Lutheran's offense, picking up 13 kills. North got some help from Charlie Bennett and his 35 assists. Bennett was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Lutheran's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8-1.

The future could be bright for both Lutheran and Liberty: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Cougars will look to extend St. Francis Borgia's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Liberty will try to hand Troy-Buchanan their 16th-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
