The Westbrook Blue Blazes will head out on the road to challenge the Marshwood Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Westbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Westbrook will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Noble, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Blue Blazes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Blazes.

Madison Ross made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Ross was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Westbrook got a massive performance out of Emma Boulette, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Boulette has posted since back in May of 2024. Ava Anderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Westbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Marshwood lost 13-3 to Gorham on Friday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laurali Shisler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Dorthy Ryan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Westbrook's record now sits at 5-3. As for Marshwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Westbrook took their win against Marshwood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Blazes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
