Oxford Academy blew Santa Ana out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Santa Ana got their revenge. Oxford Academy fell just short of Santa Ana by a score of 10-8. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Danelia Paniagua made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Oxford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Santa Ana, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-1-1 record this season.

Oxford Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Santa Ana, they will take on Temecula Prep at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Santa Ana's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Temecula Prep has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
