Highland is 8-1 against Griffith since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Highland is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Kankakee Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Kougars by a score of 8-7.

Cash Washick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Griffith might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-3 to Hammond Bishop Noll, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Panthers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jason Quillin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.

Griffith's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Highland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Griffith struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Highland skirted past Griffith 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
