Basketball Recap: Rangeview Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Rangeview won the last time they faced Northfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rangeview Raiders managed a 74-68 win over the Northfield Nighthawks. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Nighthawks are ranked 39th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rangeview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ladavian King led the charge by going 7 for 14 en route to 23 points and three steals. The game was King's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie Weatherspoon V, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points and six assists.

Rangeview was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northfield only racked up eight assists.

Northfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Judah Michael, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daizhon Walker, who posted 18 points.

Rangeview's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Northfield, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

When Rangeview and Northfield next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Rangeview will try to stop Denver South's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rangeview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 74.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Northfield will challenge George Washington and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
