Baseball Recap: Highland Triumphs

Highland hadn't done well against East recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rams came out on top against the Leopards by a score of 14-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

The team relied heavily on Alex Just, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Highland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Isaac Rodriguez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Highland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East struck out seven times.

Highland's record now sits at 6-10. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Highland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
