Southwest Christian School put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders by a score of 5-2.

Evan Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Russo, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

Southwest Christian School lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Southwest Christian School's record now sits at 4-0. As for Concordia Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Southwest Christian School will be taking part in a tournament against Dallas HSAA Red at 5:20 p.m. on Saturday. As for Concordia Lutheran, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on The Woodlands Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
