Preview: Screven County Gamecocks vs. Portal Panthers
Screven County is 1-9 against Portal since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Screven County Gamecocks will be playing at home against the Portal Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Screven County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Portal is ranked 12th).
Last Saturday, Screven County suffered a tough 58-36 loss at the hands of Jenkins County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Screven County in their matchups with Jenkins County: they've now lost five in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Deon Dixon, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, Portal put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 58-45 victory over Evans.
Their wins bumped Screven County to 2-3 and Jenkins County to 5-0.
