Vandalia lost to Lincolnwood back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Vandals narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lancers 3-1.

Vandalia's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kohnor Depew, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Depew also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Vandalia's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Lincolnwood, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Coming up, Vandalia will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Shelbyville at 4:30 p.m. As for Lincolnwood, they are taking a road trip to take on Bunker Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers are facing the Minutemen at the right time seeing as the Minutemen are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
