Recap: High Plains Storm vs. Giltner Hornets
Even though the High Plains Storm have not done well against the Giltner Hornets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. High Plains came out on top against Giltner by a score of 52-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for High Plains.
Ayden Hans continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Urkoski, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
High Plains pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Giltner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
High Plains will be home for the holidays to greet Shelby-Rising City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Giltner, they will head out on the road to face off against Palmer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Palmer is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
