Baseball Game Preview: Pine Forest Eagles vs. West Florida Jaguars

The Pine Forest Eagles will head out to square off against the West Florida Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pine Forest has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while West Florida will arrive with three straight wins.

Pine Forest lost 15-2 to Central on Tuesday.

Pine Forest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Char'Son Floyd, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. AL Leatherwood also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, West Florida beat Walton 6-1 on Tuesday.

West Florida let Adam Geiger and Keelan Boyd loose on the outfield. Geiger went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Boyd scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most RBI Geiger has posted since back in April of 2024.

West Florida pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Pine Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Pine Forest might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from West Florida in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Pine Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
