The Lewis Mills Spartans will face off against the Bristol Eastern Lancers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Lewis Mills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Lewis Mills didn't have quite enough to beat Avon and fell 2-1. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lewis Mills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megyn Larose, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Bristol Eastern made easy work of Manchester on Thursday and carried off an 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Beebe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Emily Valentine was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corinne Sutula, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Bristol Eastern's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Lewis Mills, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
