Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilliard Darby). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Hilliard Darby let Drew Limbird and Cooper Gilkerson run wild. Limbird went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Gilkerson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Gilkerson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hilliard Darby kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Hilliard Darby now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Hilliard Darby and Fairfield Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 118th) will meet Springfield (ranked 488th) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fairfield Christian Academy will face off against Millersport at 5:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (100 vs. 606).
