Softball Recap: Millis Has No Trouble Against Rockland

Millis never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Rockland Bulldogs 13-0. Considering the Mohawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mia Vasta was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Vasta was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zoe Sparks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Macy Ingraham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Millis now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rockland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millis will head out to square off against Bellingham at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rockland, they will venture away from home to challenge Norwell at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
