Ashley and West Brunswick are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Ashley Screaming Eagle will look to defend their home field on Friday against the West Brunswick Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Ashley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Ashley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell 12-8 to Swansboro on Wednesday.

Sawyer Rigdon and Vayda LeQuire stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rigdon scored a run while going 2-for-4, while LeQuire scored a run while going 2-for-4. Emersyn Oxendine also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, West Brunswick's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Tuesday. They came up short against Laney, falling 14-1. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Brunswick saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kady Long, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Brunswick fell to 4-1. As for Ashley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Ashley took their victory against West Brunswick in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Ashley repeat their success, or does West Brunswick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
