Softball Recap: Hermiston Takes a Loss

After flying high against Walla Walla on Friday, Hermiston came back down to earth. The Bulldogs came up short against the Richland Bombers on Tuesday, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Tuesday.

Hermiston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Virgil, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Hermiston has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Richland, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hermiston will host Kamiakin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Richland, they will head out to take on Chiawana at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Riverhawks have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
