Football Recap: Healdsburg Greyhounds vs. St. Helena Saints

After losing to St. Helena the last time they met, Healdsburg decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Healdsburg Greyhounds simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the St. Helena Saints 54-25 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Greyhounds.

Nova Perrill II went supernova for Healdsburg, throwing for 257 yards and six touchdowns on only 15 passes, while also rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Perrill II got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 70 yards. Areum Romero was Perrill II's top target, picking up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Healdsburg wouldn't let St. Helena keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Healdsburg can thank Frank Rea and Romero for forcing both of them. Romero also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making three total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Healdsburg was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 409 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since was before the start of last season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Helena lost, don't look at Troy Taber. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns. Eric Torres handled things on the ground, rushing for 138 yards.

Healdsburg's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. Helena, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
