The Hamilton Heights Huskies will take on the University Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hamilton Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Lawrence Central.

Cy Mason looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Josh Newton was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten contests. Kyle Micheal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, University never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Seton Catholic. Considering the Trailblazers have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Charlie Ranek was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. University is undefeated when Ranek posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckett Suh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
University kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.
Hamilton Heights pushed their record up to 6-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for University, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hamilton Heights has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hamilton Heights came out on top in a nail-biter against University in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Trailblazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
