Softball Recap: Hicksville Comes Up Short

Hicksville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastside Blazers. If the Aces were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Blazers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kennedy Adams put in work no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits. Adams was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Evy McAlexander made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Mckenna Baird was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Hicksville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Eastside, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blazers beat Hicksville by a score of 5-3 later that day.
