Basketball Recap: Mcdonogh Starts Season with Win Against Archbishop Curley

McDonogh had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Archbishop Curley Friars 57-39.

McDonogh's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlos Ferguson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ferguson a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Bj Hopkins, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points.

Archbishop Curley is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDonogh will head out to challenge Concordia Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Archbishop Curley, they will take on Mount St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
