Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lincoln had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mitchell Kernels. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Kernels recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lincoln who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Londyn Hajek had 12 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Korzan, who had ten digs.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Mitchell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Washington on the 22nd. As for Mitchell, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Jefferson on the 22nd.
