Softball Recap: Osbourn Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Osbourn brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the Park View Patriots 20-2 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

MacKenzie Fitterer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Osbourn got a massive performance out of Britney Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Reyes has posted since back in March. Tristyn Kershner also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Osbourn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Park View only posted an OBP of .286.

Osbourn's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Park View, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Osbourn is taking a road trip to square off against Hylton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Park View, they will face off against Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
