Rancho Cucamonga was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Chino Hills Huskies 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Rancho Cucamonga got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 24-26, 25-18, 15-25, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Chino Hills had strong showings from Yanizza Gutierrez, who had 25 digs and three assists, and Sahana Rajesh, who had 12 kills and eight digs. Gutierrez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Rancho Cucamonga's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Chino Hills, they dropped their record down to 14-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Rancho Cucamonga didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Ventura on the 21st. Chino Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
