Soccer Preview: A Rolling Vincennes Rivet Meets a Wounded Washington Catholic

The Vincennes Rivet Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Washington Catholic Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vincennes Rivet will be strutting in after a victory, while Washington Catholic will be coming in after a loss.

Vincennes Rivet headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for two straight, but North Knox let them put that streak behind them. The Patriots put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 6-2 win on Tuesday. Vincennes Rivet might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Washington Catholic was not quite White River Valley's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Wolverines.

Vincennes Rivet has now won three of their last four games on the road. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those road victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. As for Washington Catholic, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
