Basketball Recap: Crescent Takes a Loss

Crescent played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 43-16 defeat at the hands of the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights. The Tigers were down 40-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Leading St. Joseph's Catholic to victory were Tiffany Helmer and Evie Adams. Helmer went 7 of 13 on her way to 18 points, while Adams posted 12 points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Adams a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Stella Nash, who put up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Crescent and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Crescent Tigers duke it out with the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph's Catholic will take on Wren in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
