League recap: Northridge stuns Utica in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Utica, who took down 447th ranked Utica, 33-26. Jacob Burke ran for 278 yards and caught one passes for 17 yards in the win.

Johnstown-Monroe's Cody Farley rumbled for the longest rushing play in Mid-Buckeye this season in his game against Loudonville last week. Farley's team defeated the Redbirds as he sprinted for 84 yards on the play and finished with 264 in all.

Northridge's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bryant Garee threw for 83 and one touchdown and Chase Hess had 46 yards receiving. Kyle Lambright helped Northridge's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.

Northridge's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Garee has thrown for 236 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Hess has 13 catches for 175 yards. Burke leads the league in rushing with 536 yards.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Johnstown-Monroe takes on Fredericktown. Michael Carter's team's offense has scored 165 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Freddies have allowed only 177 on the year.

A big matchup in Mid-Buckeye this week will be when Fredericktown takes on the Johnnies. As it stands, Jason Streby's team is in fifth, while Johnstown-Monroe is in first.

Danville moved up to 205 from 372 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Blue Devils climbed the ranks as a result of a 52-21 win over the Freddies.
