Preview: Wall Eagles vs. Hamlin Chargers

Wall has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Hamlin Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Wall faced Kimball/White Lake in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wall took down Kimball/White Lake 22-6.

Meanwhile, Hamlin put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Bon Homme, posting a 52-8 win at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hamlin.

It was another big night for Tyson Stevenson, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Fraser, who gained 94 total yards and two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Hamlin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Zac VanMeeteren and his two sacks.

Wall's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. As for Hamlin, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-1.

Wall was able to grind out a solid win over Hamlin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 26-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wall since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
