Softball Recap: Fairfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Fairfield and Columbia City squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Fairfield had to settle for second. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The matchup marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

With the loss, Fairfield broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8. As for Columbia City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbia City, they will square off against Tippecanoe Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
