Preview: Franklin Indians vs. Parkville Knights

Franklin is 1-6 against Parkville since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Franklin Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Parkville Knights at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Franklin sitting on 15 straight wins and Parkville on four.

In what's become a running theme this season, Franklin gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past Hereford 68-31 on the road. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Hereford is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Parkville strolled past Randallstown with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-41.

Chima Egeonu was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mikko Persia, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Franklin's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. As for Parkville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Franklin came up short against Parkville when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 66-55. Can Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
