Basketball Recap: Malone Extends Winning Streak to Four

Malone had won three straight games and Jackson Welch did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Malone Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Graceville Tigers 57-54 thanks in part to Welch, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Hoke Harkrider was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Graceville still got an impressive performance from Bryson Reynolds, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Reynolds has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mj Yeager, who posted ten points.

Malone's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Graceville, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-1.

Malone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-14 win against Vernon on the 5th. As for Graceville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-40 victory against Ponce De Leon on the 5th.
