Softball Recap: Walker Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Walker Valley entered their tilt with Fairhope on Wednesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Fairhope Pirates.

The team relied heavily on Alyssa Davenport, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Benson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Walker Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in nine consecutive games.

Walker Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Fairhope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Walker Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-1 loss against Tuscaloosa County on the 12th. As for Fairhope, they will welcome Cullman at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
