It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ceres can now relate to. They fell just short of the Los Banos Tigers by a score of 10-8 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alizae Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Ava Montesdeoca made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Gabriela Ortiz was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Ceres' loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Los Banos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-14.

Ceres does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Banos, they will challenge Placer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hillmen have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
