Basketball Recap: Uxbridge Comes Up Short

Uxbridge lost to Auburn back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans took a 65-49 bruising from the Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Rockets are ranked 109th).

Uxbridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Auburn, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, Uxbridge will take on Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Thatcher Sweeney and Kenny Arpin. As for Auburn, they will host Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.31 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
