Football Recap: Knox Skates Past Laville with Ease

Knox extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the LaVille Lancers 62-16. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Redskins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Lancers are ranked 159th).

Myles McLaughlin produced another solid performance rushing for 457 yards and seven scores while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 19th straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season. Victor Beaucahmp made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Knox was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 538 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

As for LaVille, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.27 yards per carry in those games compared to only three in the others.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Schwitz, who threw for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 52 yards on only five carries.

Coming up, Knox will host Jimtown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Redskins will be up against the Jimmies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for LaVille, they will head out on the road to square off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
