Volleyball Recap: Central Victorious

Central posted their closest victory since October 1, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Hillsborough Terriers 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Terriers on Friday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Jaylene Sanchez paced Central's offense, picking up five kills. Sanchez got some help from Lacie Bigger and her 12 assists. Nathalia Charles and Isabella Colon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 6-8. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Morgan and 3-8 Hillsborough. As for Hillsborough, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Central will square off against Zephyrhills at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsborough has already played their next matchup (against Morgan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
