South Rowan is 8-2 against Northwest Cabarrus since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The South Rowan Raiders will square off against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 5:30 p.m. South Rowan will be strutting in after a victory while Northwest Cabarrus will be coming in after a loss.

South Rowan lost a heartbreaker the last time they played East Davidson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. South Rowan was the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over East Davidson on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Kynlee Dextraze, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Lexie Ritchie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Dextraze wasn't the only one working in the hit department: South Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus came up short against Mount Pleasant on Monday and fell 6-3. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Molly Hatley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isabella Ellis, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Northwest Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for South Rowan, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Rowan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Northwest Cabarrus struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

South Rowan took their win against Northwest Cabarrus when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will South Rowan repeat their success, or does Northwest Cabarrus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
