Baseball Game Preview: Tooele Buffaloes vs. Stansbury Stallions

Tooele is 1-9 against Stansbury since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will head out on the road to challenge the Stallions at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Stansbury will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Tooele extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Buffaloes put the hurt on Hillcrest with a sharp 15-4 victory. 15 seems to be a good number for the Buffaloes as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Madex Vonhatten was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jett Pratt also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Vonhatten wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tooele kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Stansbury can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They blew past Ogden 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Hadlock was a standout: he scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Thorpe, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Tooele's record now sits at 6-12. As for Stansbury, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tooele has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Stansbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
