Basketball Recap: Bear River Find Success

On Friday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, the Bear River Bears made off with a 54-53 win over the West Field Longhorns.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Harrison, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points. Jaxon Slaugh was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six boards and five assists.

Bear River's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for West Field, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9.

Bear River and Logan will meet on Wednesday for a tough Bear Battle. Bear River is facing Logan at the right time seeing as Logan is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for West Field, they will take on Mountain Crest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Field is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
