Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Tech Falls to Alexandria in First Game of Season

St. Cloud Tech had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Alexandria Cardinals on the road by a 85-71 margin on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Alexandria's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Witt, who went 12-for-21 en route to 30 points. The matchup was Witt's sixth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Roderick, who posted 23 points.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Cloud Tech is set to take on their familiar foe Apollo at 7:15 p.m. on January 16, 2026. Meanwhile, Alexandria will challenge rival Willmar at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
