Baseball Recap: Whitehaven Takes a Loss

Whitehaven was the 10-0 winner over Memphis Central when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers lost 21-1 to the Warriors on Wednesday.

Whitehaven saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ramar Smith, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.

Whitehaven's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 2-3-1. As for Memphis Central, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Whitehaven will challenge White Station at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Memphis Central, they will face off against Middle College at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.63 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
